Some
Anxiety Facts
|
| |
| The
Anxiety Disorder Association of America (ADAA), states that an estimated
19 million adult Americans suffer from anxiety disorders. These
disorders may develop from a complex set of risk factors, including
genetics, brain chemistry, personality, and life events. They may
take different forms such as generalized anxiety, panic disorder,
social anxiety, and specific phobias to name a few. According to
The National Institute of Mental Health, in Mental Health:
A Report to the Surgeon General, the anxiety disorders are
the most common, or frequently occurring, mental disorders across
all cultures.
Anxiety can
cause unbearable suffering and although highly treatable, only
about one-third of those suffering receive treatment. Many anxiety
disorder sufferers fail to seek help mostly likely because of
the high cost of professional treatment and limited insurance
coverage, the unfortunate negative stigma associated with mental
disorders, or that confused feeling that something bizarre is
happening to them, which they most likely will get over.
Based on these
facts, there is a real and desperate need to reach and help the
desperately anxious! More effective books on anxiety disorder
is a viable solution and A Spider in the Palace makes a perfect
addition to the self-help arsenal for victims of all ages.

Help
for Teens
|
| |
| Although help
is available to all ages, teens would benefit well since anxiety
disorder typically makes its insidious appearance during the adolescent
years. Within the pages of my book are examples of my own teen experiences
to include my confusion, embarrassment, struggles, and fear, as
I witnessed anxiety disorder enter my life. These depictions, as
well as a bit of humor and encouragement will comfort and help guide
the teen as well as the supporting adult. And the proven techniques
will provide at least a significant degree of healing and control,
if not hope and direction to seek even further help through a professional.
A young teen, or adult for that matter, need not endure countless
years of suffering! |
